People, politicians urged to stop blame game
KARACHI – People and political should stop blame game and concentrate on serious issues faced by the nation and country, said Dr Fauzia Siddiqui here on Tuesday.
Addressing a condolence meeting at Aafia Movement Secretariat here for the martyrs of Abbas Town tragedy, she said the enemy of people and politicians was common and they should recognise it instead of fighting with each other.
She said when the daughters were being sold for dollars and mighty rulers keep a mum then it was natural that lawlessness and anarchy would besiege the nation, and people face insecurity and strife.
On the occasion, Fateha was offered for the martyrs besides praying for early recovery of the injured. Participants led by Maulana Ayub also prayed for peace and tranquility in Karachi. A large number of civil society members, lawyers, human rights activists attended the condolence meeting.
The meeting showed concern on eruption of violence and firing at Ancholi and Sohrab Goth areas after the funeral of the martyrs, which claimed at least two more lives. It was told that two volunteers of Aafia Movement also died in the Abbas Town tragedy.
Dr Fauzia said whole country was rocked with incidents of terrorism and violence, resulting in serious troubles for Pakistani masses. She regretted the political leaders instead of focusing on the issues of people and providing them safety of life and property are fighting for their vested interests.
She asked how these politicians would go these people for begging votes when they have no concern with their woes and sufferings. She said the people are united to give sacrifices for the nation and country, and now the politicians have to show this commitment and pledge.
It was regretted that rulers in Karachi preferred giving protection to the VVIPs instead of protecting poor masses. It was noted had the daughter of the nation, Aafia Siddqui, was sold for dollars and instead preference give to safeguard the national honor today the country would have enjoyed an able and competent leadership.
