The trouble with these stories is sometimes a little fact is sprinkled in the fantasy. The story, I fear, is rubbish and would have come out long before now.
The account of how she was shot is definitely wrong. I was in the room where she was shot and got eye witness account statements from the Afghan police present.
I wonder if the motive is to simply muddy the waters so that people like you and I will walk away, ISIS and other groups will stop asking to hostage exchange her and then she can rot away in silence.
Whatever the truth, your own conclusion is right. We have to get her out of this horrendous situation.
