Innocent missing Balochis should be recovered immediately, demands Fowzia Siddiqui
Karachi, November 22: Government and its law enforcing agencies should respect the law of land and stop whisking away innocent people and keeping them in illegal detention, said Aafia Movement Pakistan leader Dr Fowzia Siddiqui, addressing a caravan of the families of missing persons of Baluchistan that reached Karachi on Friday.
Fowzia led a big procession of Aafia Movement Pakistan workers that greeted the families of the missing persons of Baluchistan at Karachi Press Club (KPC). She said when the custodians of law themselves break the law it would only spread anarchy in the country. She said the whole nation is with their Balochi brethren and demand early and safe recovery of all missing Balochis. She said Aafia Movement grets the families of missing persons in Karachi, adding Aafia Movement is not only protesting against the kidnapping of Dr Aafia Siddiqui and her minor children, but it has always raised a strong voice for the recovery of all missing persons, including the missing persons of Baluchistan. She said it is irony that innocent people are kidnapped from Baluchistan streets in broad daylight and kept in secret illegal detention centers for years.
Aafia Movement leader said Baluchistan is the richest province of Pakistan in terms of natural resources, but it is also the most neglected province of the country. She said the Baluchistan people are even deprived of clean drinking water. She said these people should be given their adequate and just share in the natural resources of their province but the rulers have always betrayed them. She said the billions of rupees in the name of Baluchistan packages have been embezzled by the ruling politicians. The Balochis were poor yesterday, they are poor today, and if the same policies continued they would remain poor tomorrow.
She assured the Balochi that Aafia Movement Pakistan would raise their case at all available forums locally and internationally. She also demanded of the government to take serious actions to bring innocent Aafia Siddiqui home, where her ailing mother, and children await her.
