Karachi ( ) All Pakistan Christian Association and the Methodist Church council Announced today as they began their Christmas celebrations that we begin by remembering oppressed humanity and dedicate this eve to the Daughter of the Nation Dr. Aafia. Bishop Justin bhatti and Bishop Basharat Gul, Father Munawer Said Secretary Methodist Church council Dr. Azra Khan were present at the celebration. Speakers expressed grief over the treatment of Dr. Aafia, and said Christmas is a time for giving, it is a time of forgiveness and Mercy, We appeal to President Obama to Release Aafia and send her home. The Christian community will be honored by this gesture and Aafia's return to Pakistan will be the best Christmas gift to the community. Dr. Aafia's sister Dr. Fauzia was also present at the occasion and wished a very Blessed holiday season and said this prayer and hope is the best gift for her family. Aafia's case is human at its core and universal in appeal. She thanked the bishops and priests and Christian community for its support.
The special prayer started with the biblical verse Isaiah 61:1 the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, to bind up the broken hearted and to proclaim liberty to the captives, and to free from Prisons those that are bound.
