Eid Gifts for Children in Prison
The Aafia Movement has started a program to deliver Eid Gifts to children in Pakistani prisons. The program was started after a recent visit by Dr. Fauzia, sister of Dr. Aafia, to one of many prisons in Pakistan where children are kept. Many of these children were born in captivity to mothers who are incarcerated for a variety of reasons. These children, for no crime, have become innocent victims just as Dr. Aafia's children have suffered captivity and torture. The gifts are a small way of reducing some of the misery that the children suffer at the hands of abusive prison facilities. This is the first such effort launched formally in Pakistan.
