JI condemns lathi charge on Pasban rally in Karachi
LAHORE, (SANA): The Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan and Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, have condemned the lathi charge and shelling on the Pasban rally in Karachi taken out for Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s release.
In a statement here, they also slated the arrest of Dr Fauzia Siddiqui and several others.
They said that Dr Aafia Siddiqui was an opposed daughter of the Pakistani nation who had been announced 86 years jail term by a US court and the rally had been taken out to press for her release. He said the police torture on the rally and detention of her sister and many others were most condemnable. This showed that the rulers had sold out national honour.
