Incorrect Report in Daily Times – Jan 8, 2011
On January 8, 2011, The Daily Times (Pakistan) incorrectly attributed a statement to Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui regarding the selection of January 7th for a "Black Day". The statement stated that: "… the day was chosen symbolically as the first elections in the history of USA were conducted on 7 January 1769…" This was not stated by Dr. Fauzia as this date in that year has no significance in US history. The first US Presidential elections were in fact held on 7 January, 1789.
